Boulder, CO. (October 31, 2018) – Rapha, maker of the world’s finest cycling clothing, will be the exclusive clothing partner of the Old Man Winter Rally held Feb. 10, 2019 in Lyons, Colorado. The Old Man Winter Rally is an epic winter celebration of dirt, snow, sweat, and beer that sends athletes through a mixed terrain adventure around Boulder, CO. “The Old Man Winter Rally embodies the spirit that drives many of our events“, says Jake Rosenbloum, Rapha’s U.S. Marketing Director. “Whenever we can, we strive to promote rewarding experiences rooted in cycling, whether through challenging riding, camaraderie or as in the case of this event, an exciting combination of the two.”
Now in its 5th year, the Old Man Winter Rally was created by Adventure Fit, an award-winning experiential event company based in Boulder. “After enjoying many wintry adventures in Boulder County, we set out to create a world-class winter event in our backyard and the Old Man Winter was born,” said Josh Kravetz, President. The event offers two bike course options: the 50km route tours some of the scenic, rolling terrain that has made Boulder County, CO one of the country’s most popular gravel riding destinations. The 100km ride starts with the same country riding as the 50km course before sending cyclists on a roller coaster route of climbs and descents through the snow-filled canyons west of Boulder. The event also offers a 5.7-mile running race and a Run/Bike combo that is popular for multi-sport athletes. All participants are supported with well-stocked aid stations and a huge after party with hot food, fire pits, and cold beer.
As part of the partnership, the Rapha Clubhouse in Boulder will host a series of training rides to bring riders together as they build strength and cold weather resilience needed for the Old Man Winter Rally. Rapha will also help produce custom clothing for the event, which will be for sale in limited numbers.
