303Triathlon: We’re excited to break the news on the new Colorado Triathlon Club Championships. Can you please share more information on the background of this event?
Lance Panigutti (Race Director – Without Limits): Colorado has a really robust club triathlon scene, but you wouldn’t know it. In the past it’s a very fragmented scene and while Rocky mtn Tri Club and Boulder Tri Club make a visible presence at events you still don’t see a true team element of racing together. We hope to add that dimension to the 303triathlon Colorado Triathlon this season and put the club scene (small and large clubs) squarely in the limelight!
303Triathlon: What really makes the scoring and format special?
Lance Panigutti (Race Director – Without Limits): In short it no longer favors the mega clubs like Boulder and Rocky mtn. Tri Club, but the most balanced club! If you look at the format below it only takes 12 athletes to compete (6 men and 6 women), but my favorite part is that the scoring is also balanced between the sprint and Olympic distances. Let’s see who the strongest and most balanced club in Colorado is for 2016!
