Tri Club Tuesday: Boulder Sends 15 TriClubs to Puerto Rico

IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder was a competitive race for the TriClubs in attendance. The clubs battled it out in hopes of racking up points and finishing in the top three of their division in order to qualify for the TriClub championship. Congratulations to the top three clubs in each division who have officially qualified for the 2017 IRONMAN 70.3 Pan American TriClub Championship.
rmtc logoBoulder’s very own Rocky Mountain Tri Club took home over 100,000 points, finishing with 69,096 points more than any other TriClub in the race to earn the first place spot on the Division I Podium, and of course, a qualifying slot for the championship. Big Sexy Racing LLC finished strong and earned the second place slot. Endurance Nation was able to stay ahead of LifeTime Tri Team with a 1,000 point lead, to take third place in the division.
We’re thrilled to have finished at the top of the podium against some really great local and national teams! The Ironman 70.3 Boulder is one of RMTC’s favorite events each year, and we always have a strong contingent of racers, volunteers, and spectators. I’m really proud of the effort each of our members put forth on a tough day and we’re looking forward to bringing our Mile High spirit to Puerto Rico next spring!

TriScottsdale definitely “brought it” as predicted and was able to sneak ahead of Sillicon Valley Triathlon Club. Nonetheless, Sillicon Valley Triathlon Club didn’t give up and pushed through to take second place on the podium. Salt Lake City Tri kept themselves in the game and took third place in Division II.
Boulder Triathlon Club marked their territory in Division III, and pulled ahead by a 4,000 point lead over the other TriClubs in their division. Moxie Multisport unexpectedly crept into second place for Division III, while BAUCCO SQUAD fought a tough battle for third place, finishing just 231 points ahead of Jockstrap Catapult.
Divison IV racked up the points in Boulder. Endurance House Colorado Tri Team took home the championship spot, staying just 2,000 points ahead of D3 Multisport who certainly made an upset and earned both a qualifying spot and second place in Division IV. Prairie Athletic Club rounded out the top three for Division IV.
TriAnimal Endurance logo_0TriAnimal Endurance made a name for themselves as they pulled far ahead and took the top spot for Division V. Dark Horse Triathlon brought all they had and took home a second place finish.Vixxen Racing and Sons of Thunder ran a close race, with Vixxen racing maintaining a small 1,000 point lead to take home the third and final podium spot in Division V.
Congratulations to all of the teams who came out to compete in the TriClub competition. Despite the scorching hot weather, all of the TriClubs were able to reel in a tremendous amount of points for their respective teams. We can’t wait to see how the 15 TriClubs that earned a race slot at the2017 IRONMAN 70.3 Pan American TriClub Championship will do in Puerto Rico, good luck!
