• Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial Race Report #2

    Submitted by 303cycling on April 25th, 2016

Rather than write about my TT experience, which is pretty consistent week to week (I rode *expletive* hard and *expletive* fast), for my second race report, I’d do a feature on a team that not only participates in the series but also is a platform for helping more women get into cycling and racing.

Dana Platin and Roberta Smith, Naked Women’s Racing Team

I met Roberta Smith from the Naked Women’s Racing Team in week 2 – she was the rider immediately behind me. Roberta is not only crazy fast (she zoomed past me within 1:30 of my start), she’s incredibly nice and an ambassador for the sport of cycling. She didn’t hesitate to offer this newbie some great tips and some whoops of encouragement as we zoomed by each other on the course. . . Read more

    • Cyclist Runs the Bolder Boulder. On Purpose.

      Submitted by 303cycling on April 13th, 2016

      By Cheri Felix

Running. Two years ago I was holding steady with my personal statement about running; I’m not running unless someone is chasing me. And that someone better be scary and trying to take my coffee away from me. But then something happened and I can’t even remember what it was exactly. It’s like that old couple when they get asked about how they met and they’re a little bit foggy about the details but they can remember the love and the chemistry.

I think it started with cyclocross. . . Read more

      • Women’s Wednesday: Sassy Cheri Felix talks Sassy Shredly Leggings

        Submitted by 303cycling on April 6th, 2016

When the heck did leggings become cool. I may have missed the memo but I’m catching on. Now, Shredly has some legging skin in the game. You know them for their unbelievably rad mountain bike shorts and now they offer leggings. And they’re everything you’d expect; sassy, stylish and completely versatile.

I’m going to share and I’m sure I’m the only one who’s ever felt this before, (read:sarcasm) but I’ll take a chance. There was a time in my life when I would not have left the house in leggings or tights. . .

            Submitted by 303cycling on March 2nd, 2016

“OK, let’s review your pros and cons again,” she said patiently.
“On the one hand, you’ve got carbon, disc brakes, a great fit, and smoking sale price. And a little bit of a purple stripe. On the other hand you’ve got the colors you really like, but a drop down in components, a bit more weight, and you might be in between sizes on the frame. Have I got that right?”
Jaime Jacoby – tattooed, muscled, cool chic in a girl-crush kind of way – peers at me from under her baseball cap, smiling….

                Submitted by 303cycling on February 10th, 2016

Valentine’s Day. We could go round and round about whether or not it’s a real holiday or not but let’s not waste precious time. Let’s get down to what is important: Buying me- I mean buying your loved one- something that really says “What in the world would I do without you?” And although the answer to that question would be “have more money,” let’s not be cynical… Read more

                    Submitted by 303cycling on January 20th, 2016

Never in my life have I ridden so slow and worked so hard.

I had not been “actively” thinking about racing a fat bike. And by that I mean I had not been my usual self about it; obsessive. And then I was. Brian, co-owner of Boulder Bicycle Works texted on Friday and asked if I was planning to race in Fraser the next day. Before I could respond he texted five magic words; I’ll bring you a bike. A carbon LaMere to be precise. Okay, twist my arm. I’ll do it… Read more
