Marshall Rd in Boulder to get wider shoulder

Thanks to one of our readers who submitted news told us about the soon to be, very needed, shoulder and new surface on Marshall Rd in south Boulder. Looks like it will be from Hwy 93 to Cosco in Louisville. Sweet!

Yup i noticed this the other day as well. Most drivers are great on the tight stretches, but it'll help out for sure! Any chance they can put up a wall to block the wind from the flatirons now...?

Accident

I know there was an accident out there a few years ago. Actually I think it was on Cherryvale near Marshall Rd but a cyclist got hit from behind and the driver took off. I am really just waiting for a shoulder on Neva Rd.

I think Valmont is next for new shoulder

I believe a few years ago some type of sales tax was passed that was going to target roads like Valmont (from 75th to 95th) to get a wider shoulder. I'm hoping they will put one in once they are complete with the Erie pipeline work on that road.
The new shoulder on Marshall Rd will really help those whom might want to commute towards interlocken.

New shoulders will be great for when the cars go 3 abreast (one passing another). I'm not sure that they really needed a new surface. It was repaved last year. I almost liked it better with the potholes; it seemed like there was much less traffic.
