Boulder County’s Parks and Open Space Department staff’s recommendations about whether to allow electrical-powered bicycles on county parks and open space areas bike paths and trails — and if so, where — are still as many as three months away.

Tina Nielsen, the department’s special projects manager, said on Tuesday afternoon that the staff is reviewing approximately 400 comments about allowing e-bikes on open space that the county received before the comment period ended on Feb. 28.

She said the tentative timeline is that the staff’s recommendations will be announced prior to another public open house that would be scheduled for sometime in June, followed by a presentation to the county’s Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee in July.
