Louisville bicyclist sustains serious injuries after collision with truck in Superior

A 31-year-old male cyclist from Louisville suffered serious injuries after a collision with a pickup truck in Superior on Friday night.

The bicyclist was traveling downhill and northbound on McCaslin Boulevard “when he collided with a black 2014 Dodge Ram pickup” truck at about 6 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The truck was traveling southbound on McCaslin and turning eastbound onto South Indiana Street.

According to the release, witnesses reported the cyclist’s injuries as traumatic, and he was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

As of late Friday night, no charges had been filed and the crash was still being investigated.

    It should be noted that the northbound cyclist had the right of way over a left-turning vehicle.
