A global magazine dedicated to spreading the news about off-road triathlons is the winner of the latest round of Trout Tank.
Dirt-Tri magazine and its founders Jimmy Archer and Will Kelsay were named the “winners” of Metro Denver’s Small Business Development Center’s Trout Tank, a local version of the popular television show Shark Tank.
“I feel stunned – I was literally making notes as to what everyone was doing well,” Archer said.
“I was in complete shock,” Kelsay said. “We are so excited about what we are going to do, but it’s really hard to communicate a vision with someone. It is exciting that people got and understood that. We are the experts in what we are doing, and you can trust us.”
Metro Denver SBDC started the Trout Tank series about one year ago as a way to get entrepreneurs some face time with local lenders, bankers, angels and venture capital investors. Entrepreneurs audition for a chance to make their pitch. Typically, five entrepreneurs are chosen. Some of them are looking for traditional small business loans, some are looking for equity investors and partners and some want mentors.
