New Tour Director Announced for Denver Post Ride The Rockies & Pedal The Plains

The Denver Post Community Foundation is pleased to welcome Deirdre Moynihan as the new Tour Director of The Denver Post Ride The Rockies and The Denver Post Pedal The Plains Bicycle Tours.

Moynihan is well-known in the local cycling industry with over 20 years of experience as a bicycle tour and race promoter, as well as a strong advocate for junior cycling overseeing the Tri Velo Series Junior Cycling Camps and the Front Rangers Cycling Club. She has directed bike tours throughout Colorado, California, New England and in Europe and most recently served as Ride Director for the Denver Century Ride for the last six years.

“I am very excited about this position. Ride The Rockies and Pedal The Plains are highlights of the Colorado cycling season and it is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to oversee the next chapter of their history,” said Moynihan. “With the dedication and support of the dedicated staff, volunteers, and sponsors I am confident that the upcoming tours will continue their legacies as two of the best bicycle tours in the country.”

“We are thrilled to have Deirdre on our team and look forward to her leadership and direction for our two signature bicycle tours, ” said Tracy Ulmer, President & CEO of The Denver Post Community Foundation. “Deirdre brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within the cycling industry and we can’t wait to see what is in store for the future.”

The Denver Post Ride The Rockies Bicycle Tour has attained world class status over the last 32 years as one of the country’s premier recreational bicycle tour events. Each year, cyclists pedal the 6-7 day, 400+ mile trek through some of Colorado’s most beautiful mountainous terrain and most hospitable communities. The 2018 tour is scheduled for June 9-15 and the route will be announced in early February at the annual Route Announcement Party. For more information visit RideTheRockies.com.

Started in 2012 in partnership with the Governor’s Office, The Denver Post Pedal The Plains Bicycle Tour is a 3-day recreational bicycle ride through the eastern plains of Colorado and offers its participants the beauty of the Colorado plains; along with agricultural “education” stops and great community hospitality. The 2018 Pedal The Plains is scheduled for September 14-16, 2018. For more information visit PedalThePlains.com.
