Racer Participation is currently up over last year.

News Item: 

According to officials at the ACA Colorado is experiencing so far higher racer participation than 2011. The numbers are not including new events recently added to the umbrella of ACA like collegiate and track.

- April and May were 10-20% higher per event than last year. same events, same venues. more racers.

- June and July were about the same as last year. Some better, some not nearly so high.

Come on by, the TV's are bike, the space is accommodating and it's way better than watching it at home alone at 4am or recorded and learning BEFORE you watch it what the outcome is already (come-on, in today's technology you can't hide from internet spoilers)

Saturday, 7/28:

  • Lounge open 4am - 11pm - Men's Cycling Road Race from 4am - 10am featuring 3 Boulder locals representing the USA
  • Dish Gourmet here making the "Phinney Benny" sandwich (for sale) from 4am-10am
  • Bike Caffe espresso coffee cart here from 4am-10am
  • We will most likely be getting some coverage from 9News -either they will be here shooting or we will be sending them footage to air later in the day

Sunday, 7/29:

  • Lounge open 6am - 11pm - Women's Cycling Road Race from 6am-10am featuring Boulder local Evelyn Stevens representing the USA

ACA wins grant for their Junior Development program

News Item: 

From USA Cycling

USA Cycling is pleased to announce that the Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado’s (BRAC) Junior Development Program has been named a Center of Excellence for 2012.

The program has played a significant role in developing young bicycle racers in Colorado, riders such as Timmy Duggan, Alex Howes, and Danny Summerhill. Duggan called BRAC’s junior program an integral part of his development from a local cyclist into a professional. “The amount and variety of races and training opportunities provided me an excellence skill foundation for my career,” he explained.

USA Cycling’s President and CEO elaborated, “BRAC has long been engaged with developing junior riders; and the high level of talent coming from the State of Colorado has always impressed me. We expect many more riders from colorado to enter USA Cycling’s National Development Programs in the years to come.”
