Taking Chances in Races

Training is great, but nothing beats the physical and mental development that comes from racing. The dynamic environment of a race brings surprises and opportunities. In racing you sometimes need to take risks and hope the your previous training prepared you.

Plus, lightning fast racing at WTCS Hamburg last weekend, the TDF jersey leaders look locked up at Stage 19 and IM Lake Placid this weekend is going to be the last chance for some male pros to qualify for IM Nice. Locally we had the Boulder Peak Triathlon last week and the Triple Bypass this week (the full 120).

What’s New in the 303:

Racing is great training. It’s great to get that experience. Planning your swim course. Where you will start. Are you a fast starter or a start from behind the crowd swimmer. Practicing your transitions in a real life race. Practicing the mount, the dismount, pushing yourself to run through the aid stations and now slow down.
