Since that announcement, a groundswell of support for the event has blossomed, including internet chatter and brainstorming over lane lines.
Who do we know who could take this over?
I would volunteer! Just give me a job . . .
Maybe we could launch a kickstarter campaign-“
It would be such a great loss to the sport and the community for this special event to end.”
Coach Mike O’Toole of the Longmont Masters Swim Team has made the following recommendation to anyone who wants to help or speak on the topic:
Save the Longmont Triathlon – As part of the Athletic community of Longmont, I thought everyone should know about the important upcoming events that might be able to save the Longmont Tri. I hope you can join us. Even if you do not wish to speak at either meeting it would be so helpful to have you there in support. . . The more people that we get to show up to either of these meetings, the better. There is strength in numbers!
