Retail Lead: Bikes Together

Bikes Together is seeking an experienced sales associate to serve as our full-time Retail Lead at our Park Hill location. In this role you will be the face of the shop, providing excellent customer service to the public, explaining our programs, selling bikes, parts and accessories, and being a bike resource for staff, volunteers, and the public.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community bike shop that supports Denver communities with a range of bicycling programs, services and products. We have a full-service bike shop offering used bikes, parts, and accessories and an affordable Service menu. In addition, we provide a Fix-your-Bike program where anyone can work on their bike with our tools and get assistance from our expert corps of volunteer mechanics. We also offer classes to those who wish to further their mechanical knowledge.

Position Title: Park Hill Retail Lead
Reports To: Park Hill General Manager
Pay: $13-14/hr Full-time Seasonal with the possibility go Year-round

Essential Functions

General
-Greet Customers, Volunteers, and Program Participants who call or come in to Bikes Together
-Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Manage POS, and train workers on POS operations and procedures- with GM
-Answer general questions and direct to appropriate staff or volunteers
-Oversight of the retail space
-Work with others to manage donation intake and organization
-Other tasks and responsibilities as they come up

Retail Operations
-Run register and sales floor, make sales and provide excellent customer service
-Train sales staff on retail operations and procedures – with GM
-Count, complete and report daily sales receipts to GM
-Management of pricing on all retail bikes, parts, and accessories

Experience/Education
-Working knowledge of non-profits and minimum of one year working as or with volunteers
-Working knowledge of retail and the bicycle industry; bike shop experience helpful
-Current knowledge of a wide variety of bike types, accessories, tools, etc. is preferred
-Formal supervision of staff and/or volunteers

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to make individuals traditionally marginalized by bike culture feel welcome and empowered to be part of our community.
-Advanced team building skills.
-Ability to learn new computer programs
-Demonstrated accounting/inventory control experience helpful
-Demonstrated organizational skills
-Knowledge of basic office operating systems, and ability to learn new systems.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Accounting/inventory control experience helpful.
-Passion for biking and knowledge of bike types and accessories, and the willingness to learn more.

Physical Effort Required
-Regular lifting of 50+ pounds
-Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
