Just got this from the Fort Collins Velodrome folks about how they want to hold 6 day racing in Fort Collins. I wonder if this is part of the rebirth of six days racing, right now Brad Huff is doing a six day in Minnesota and rumor has it that in addition to Vegas Cross there will be a shorten 6 day the same week in Vegas. Hey folks, your own Fort Collins Velodrome Association has made a bid
to bring six evenings of “track” cycling to Fort Collins, even before
we have a real velodrome. With the direction of Jeff Morrell, a member
of our board of directors (and BikeFortCollins.org), and with the
sponsorship of the CSU Rams Cycling Team, we have applied for an
events permit to run six Tuesday night “track” events on the CSU oval,
as a non-profit “edu-tainment” series to promote and gauge interest in
track cycling within the UniverCity “district” of Downtown Fort Collins.Our permit has not yet been awarded, but we are optimistic!
