Fun Mountain Bike Racing This Coming Weekend in Castle Rock

The weather forecast is ideal for mountain bike racing. Lots of recent moisture helping to bring the dust down and allow for hero dirt conditions. Forecast for the weekend is in the upper 70’s. You need to be in Castle Rock at the MAC on Sunday, Sept 13!

Racing is only 3 days away. We will be marking course on Saturday afternoon so come on out and join us. Once again, the venue will be similar to last time and is a very friendly, safe and spaced out venue. The start area will be plenty large and allows for proper staging separation. Once again, due to popular demand (not), the finish line will be at the top of the steep dirt road and you can roll into a big grassy meadow at the completion of the race. Registration is at the “Mill House” and will be setup with one-way foot traffic to get your number plate and other product from our friends at Hammer Nutrition. The venue is perfect for all of us to spread out.

We recommend getting to the race at least an hour early to give yourself time to get your number and get prepped.  There is plenty of parking in the venue. Any spot is a good spot. Spaced out team tents will be in the large event pad at the start line. If you would like to reserve a spot, please email and let us know.

Natural Grocers will be providing bottled water near the finish area, but please bring what you think you need for hydration, and then double it. The area after the start line is a wide dirt road so riders can take aid from family or friends, or set up your own feed zone for each lap (please stay distanced).

Races start at 8:15 in the morning. The last junior race is at 2:30. The adult races start at 3:30. Registration is open now and up to 1 hour prior to your race start. But you want to register by Saturday night at 8:00 pm to avoid the $15 late registration fee.  Please know that our staff has no ability to sign you up at the race. It must be done online.

Archies Dog House will be on site serving burgers, hot dogs and drinks. And yes, Kona Ice will also be there too!

Big thanks to our friends at Bike Source as they will be back again providing tech support.

Lastly, we do have a few marshal spots that need to be filled and could use volunteers. Please email Paul Raemer if you have any interest.
