Product Design Internship in Outdoor/Cycling Industry - Green Guru

Looking for an opportunity to test your skills with some firsthand industry experience?

Green Guru is seeking an intern to assist in the design and development of its line of environmentally friendly gear.

We are looking for a design intern either in a design program or a graduate, that is interested in learning more about the development of soft good items for the outdoor and cycling industry. Software experience should include familiarity with Adobe CS, Office and some CAD.

Internship responsibilities will include contributing to the development of Green Guru Gear. Experience will entail a little of everything; market research, materials research, materials sourcing, product concept sketching/rendering, prototyping, sampling and creating manufacturing packages for sewn items.

Training will be firsthand, covering all aspects of bag and accessory development. The intern will be able to practice and develop these skills in close proximity to the supervisor who will review the work performed and provide key notes and critiques on the jobs performed. Overall this opportunity will provide a comprehensive understanding of the design process at an outdoor/action sport industry manufacturer.

Scope and responsibilities

Part Time Denver Bike Sharing B-cycle Technicians - Denver Bcycle

Part Time Denver Bike Sharing B-cycle Technician – 20 hours / week
Shifts will include weekdays, nights, and weekends between 7AM and 11PM

Reports to: Shop & Service Manager
Work season: June 1st through 2nd week of December (approximate)

Position Overview
Denver Bike Sharing (DBS) operates a public bike sharing program in the City and County of Denver. DBS Bcycle Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of bicycles included in a 530 bicycle fleet and the delivery of bicycles to bike stations distributed throughout the city. DBS Bcycle Technicians will split their time, based on the needs of the organization, between bicycle repair and maintenance duties at the DBS shop, and the dispersal of bicycles to stations. DBS Bcycle Technicians must not only be excellent mechanics, but also must be competent, courteous drivers, comfortable operating in a high traffic urban environment.

Mechanical Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Job knowledge and skills include, but are not limited to:
• The ability to understand the operation and maintenance of all components of a DBS bicycle.
• The ability to troubleshoot and identify problems with DBS bicycles.
