Inter-Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference Assistant Director - USA Cycling

Supervisor: Inter-Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference Director

Summary: This is an unpaid volunteer position, assigned by location with an operating budget provided by USA Cycling for the administration of Collegiate Cycling within the Conference. Pre-existing working knowledge of race promotion and rules for collegiate racing is preferred, and the ideal candidate will be a USA Cycling licensed official, although that is not required. Volunteer must possess high levels of customer service, managerial skills, and motivation with the desire to develop the program. The ability to work cohesively as part of a team, manage volunteers, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate is a must. Above all, a passion for the sport of cycling and for collegiate cycling in particular is essential to success in this position.

This position will work directly and frequently with the IMCCC Director on all responsibilities listed below. Some duties will be handled exclusively by the Conference Director, some by the Assistant Director, and others will be shared between the two positions.

USA Cycling provides:
• Annual operating budget for reimbursement of basic administrative expenses and travel to some conference races.
• Medals and trophies for conference championships
• Annual USA Cycling membership (racing and/or officiating license)

City of Boulder After-School Bike Repair Program Instructor

Looking for two team members to lead a group of 6-10 kids in bike repair education classes in conjunction with City of Boulder After-School Program and Standard Bike Repair

Responsibilities:

Position Details:
-Bike Repair knowledge
-Ability to work and network with the kids, parents, teachers, program director, training staff and Standard Bike Repair to implement a basic bike repair curriculum
-Availability for the set-hour per week for the entire semester
-Able to keep students entertained and thriving in an education environment
-Each instructor will be asked to lead two eight week courses during the spring semester of school starting in
-Goal: to empower kids with bike repair education
-We have a base curriculum provided as a starting point. Expansion and modification is encouraged.
-We will set you up with at least a coffee meeting with last year's program coordinator to discuss what to expect and answer questions that you may have

January to March 15th, then from April 1st to May 16th

Creekside Elementary
& UniHill (Still need to confirm with the coordinator)

Compensation:
$25 per hour. It is one hour per week for two seven week programs separated by Spring Break. If hired, you will be in charge of one program. We are looking for two instructors, one for each school.

Product Design Internship - Green Guru

Green Guru is seeking an intern to assist in the design and development of its line of environmentally friendly gear.

We are looking for a design intern either in a design program or a graduate, that is interested in learning more about the development of soft good items for the outdoor and cycling industry. Software experience should include familiarity with Adobe CS, Office and some CAD.

Internship responsibilities will include contributing to the development of Green Guru Gear. Experience will entail a little of everything; market research, materials research, materials sourcing, product concept sketching/rendering, prototyping, sampling and creating manufacturing packages for sewn items.

Training will be firsthand, covering all aspects of bag and accessory development. The intern will be able to practice and develop these skills in close proximity to the supervisor who will review the work performed and provide key notes and critiques on the jobs performed. Overall this opportunity will provide a comprehensive understanding of the design process at an outdoor/action sport industry manufacturer.

Marketing Internship - Green Guru

Bike Mechanic - Community Cycles

Community Cycles, Boulder's not for profit community bike shop (http://CommunityCycles.org), seeks a motivated and qualified individual to assist in working on customer tune ups and sale bikes. Duties include performing tune ups, refurbishing bikes for retail, as well as preparing for large bike sales. You may also work with customers and clients at times. This is a part time position, 20-25 hrs per week. Pay rate $10-13/hr based on experience.

Responsibilities
- Refurbish bikes for showroom and large bike sales
- Perform customer tune ups
- Provide customer service, including repair diagnosis and point-of-sale operation
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Occasional bike fleet maintenance and recycling runs outside of the shop

Position Requirements
Successful candidates will have previous professional experience in the following areas:
- 3+ years of experience repairing bikes
- Retail management experience

Ability to help customers and represent organization in a professional manner.
Solid cycling knowledge base
