I had not heard of Freiker until I read this article on Bikes Belong. This is really cool stuff both for the kids and the technology that's behind the program and its expanding. It started right here in Boulder in 2004 and continues to grow. This really gets kids excited about riding their bike to school and using their bike as a form of alternative transportation.

every time i see a kid in an "i'm a freiker" shirt, i wanna run up to them and be all enthusiastic and shout about how excited i am for them to ride their bikes to school. then i remember i'm 32, and have a beard, and would most likely just frighten them.
love this program, and i so look forward to seeing it grow and grow.
now, where to i sign up for the grown-up freiker program?
