Site shows local trails open, conditions

A website unveiled Tuesday shows city of Fort Collins and Larimer County trail conditions to better help recreationists plan their outings.

The NoCo Trail Report displays a map of the area with color-coded trails. Red indicates a closure, yellow a caution warning and green an open trail.

The map includes all trails managed by Larimer County Natural Resources and the city’s Parks and Natural Areas departments — including popular trails such as Horsetooth Rock and Spring Creek.

The site can be pinned to the home screen of mobile phones to be used like an app.

For iPhone users, launch the Safari app, visit NoCoTrailReport.org, tap on the “Share” button and tap “Add to home screen.”

For Android users, visit the website, tap the “menu” button and add the page to your bookmarks. Then, visit the bookmarks list, press down and hold on the bookmark until you see a menu and then tap “Add to home screen.”
