Gravel Race and Adventure in Southern Colorado Aug 29th, Pony Express 160 – 160k and 85k courses available!

Last week 303 was near here exploring the Cuchara valley and the area between La Veta and Trinidad. If you are looking for a fun getaway weekend and are wanting to do a race, check this one out. You won’t be anywhere near I-70 and crazy traffic road closures. The Pony Express Gravel 160K in Trinidad. www.ColoradoGravelGrinderChampionship.com

Come enjoy Southern Colorado and be sure to check out Trinidad, Cuchara and La Veta while you are in the area. For a fun trip home, if you have time, go to Walsenburg and check out the quiet road and scenic town of Westcliffe, then move on to Salida or east down the Arkansas to the front range.

The Las Animas, Colorado county  Health Department has approved the August 29th  Pony Xpress Gravel 160K to be held with a few adjustments.
This approval allows participants to prepare for a fantastic gravel ride with a high level of confidence. We are addressing the Health Department’s concerns by creating proactive preventive measures, and it is unlikely any guideline changes will deter us. The planned adjustments will reduce risk of exposure to COVID-19, while still allowing for an excellent cycling experience.

The most important COVID-19 adjustments are as follows:
While in the start/finish area, participants and event staff are to maintain social distancing and wear a face mask at all times. Portable restrooms will be provided but must be sanitized every two hours. In addition, event swag will be sent in the mail rather than handed out at registration.

All participants may start at the same time, but they must be 6 feet apart from other participants. The street where the event starts provides enough space for several hundred riders to start while social distancing.
