Burning Can RAD track/Beer relay/Jeff Lenosky

RAD Track, a fast-paced, bike obstacle race, will debut at the 2019 Burning Can Fest at the Lyons Outdoor Games on June 1st. This Burning Can original, inspired by the 80’s BM

X bike movie, RAD, is a bike competition that takes place on a 500 meter loop course with launch ramps, a table-top jump, wedge ramps, rollers, a banked turn, and a foam pit for riders who make it to the final rounds. Other events: Beer Relay, clinic by Pro Mountain Biker Jeff Lenosky.

The RAD Track course opens at 11:00 for pre-riding. During the pre-ride period, participants may ride the course as many times as they want in order to get their fastest time; if they make the cut, they’ll be among the top 32 riders who will be placed in a bracket for the finals, which consists of eight heats of four riders. The top two in each heat will move on to the next round. The final heat takes place at 4:00PM.

The course is open and suitable to riders eight and older. REEB demo bikes will be available to ride on the course and riders are welcome to bring their own bike. Riders in the finals must be on a single speed bike with rear brakes only. The four fastest riders will ride away with prizes from Otter Box, Gnarcissist sunglasses, and REEB cycles.

Bike to School Day

The first-ever National Bike to School Day took place on May 9, 2012, in coordination with the League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike Month. Almost 1,000 local events in 49 states and the District of Columbia joined to gather to encourage children to safely bicycle or walk to school.

The event builds on the popularity of Walk to School Day, which is celebrated across the country – and the world – each October. Many communities and schools have been holding spring walk and bicycle to school events for years. National Bike to School Day provides an opportunity for schools across the country to join together to celebrate and to build off the energy of National Bike Month.
