USA Cycling Supports Colorado League – Free Junior Memberships, More Exposure for Collegiate Programs

USA Cycling has joined the family of Colorado League sponsors for 2021-2023

Together, these organizations are dedicated to advancing opportunities for young mountain bike riders in Colorado, southern Wyoming, and northern New Mexico to ensure a promising future for the sport. Through developing youth cycling opportunities and cultivating leadership, teamwork, and community, and creating a lifelong passion for cycling, we work towards a common goal of getting more kids on bikes and keep them riding through life.

Benefits of this commitment include:• Collaboration on connecting maturing riders with their next cycling experience. An ongoing commitment to providing free USA Cycling Junior memberships, and discounted Family memberships, for league student-athletes to reduce barriers and encourage participation at more local events. Recognition of Colorado League event results in the USAC ranking system. This will facilitate Regional and National Championship call-ups and optimize the opportunity for riders to compete in a variety of events.

“This is an important step forward in developing youth cycling programs and getting more kids on bikes,” said Rob DeMartini, CEO of USA Cycling. “There is no better time to come together and work towards a common goal to champion youth riding and racing and developing America’s next Olympians. We are excited at the opportunities this partnership will bring – for youth.”

“USA Cycling’s increased investment in youth and collegiate programs is very exciting. We are extremely grateful for their 3-year commitment to support Colorado League programming and student-athletes,” said Kate Rau, Executive Director and Founder of the Colorado League. “The future is bright for the USA as we highlight the pathway to collegiate cycling and other USA Cycling programs. A fantastic example of this is that 6 recipients of an Alpine Bank – Colorado League scholarship will also receive a USA Cycling Collegiate license to further their participation in cycling.”

Collegiate cycling is a terrific way to maintain healthy habits, have fun, and make friends.
