Who will succeed in this role?
Stages Cycling is looking for a senior software developer to join the team developing its Stages Cycling application which is the central point between the devices Stages makes and the customers who use them. This candidate should have experience in a leadership role developing native Android mobile applications that interface with Bluetooth devices and RESTful APIs. This candidate should be confident in making architectural decisions based on future direction for Stages mobile applications and should have extensive experience working with RESTful APIs. Experience with Flutter is a plus.
Role and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an application for iOS, Android, and web with a common code base written in Flutter/Dart
Responsibility for ongoing design and architecture for this application
Manage project code and releases and keep code synchronized between other team members
Work with our product management and server team to develop and maintain RESTful APIs
Build and maintain Flutter packages and plugins
Keep up to date on mobile technologies for their use in future features and products
Qualifications
–At least 5 years of experience as a Software Developer
–Extensive experience in the Android ecosystem with a strong understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and deploying applications to Google Play. Experience with coroutines and handling asynchronous operations
–Proficient in the Dart and Kotlin programming languages. Experience with the Flutter framework
–Excellent understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy protocol and how to interface and debug hardware devices connected to mobile devices. Comfortable working with custom BLE services a plus
–Able to work as a team to get things done and on schedule
–Able to work independently to analyze and solve technical problems
–Able to write clean, robust, and efficient code for sophisticated processes by implementing best practices, necessary error handling, unit and integration testing
–Familiar with Jira, Confluence, and Agile. Able to create and manage tasks for completing objectives on schedule
–Able to convert wireframes to Flutter code. Familiar with Material Design Guidelines and creating beautiful and consistent user interfaces. Experience with Figma a plus
–Knowledge of appropriate data structures and algorithms for time and space efficient designs
–Proficient in Git and release branch strategies
–Experience with SQL databases
–Excellent understanding of bit manipulation and binary logic
–Extensive knowledge in the design and integration of RESTful APIs
–Familiar with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript a plus
–Familiar with Python for various data handling and algorithm exploration a plus
–Knowledgeable of security best practices pertaining to mobile and server applications
–Familiar with GPX, TCX, FIT, Google Protobuf file formats a plus
–Excellent math and data calculation skills
–Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication including electronic mail communication
–Ability to stand, sit, type, and work at a computer

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office and engineering equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require overtime.
Travel
No regular travel is expected for this position. Travel may be required occasionally for special events.
