St. Vrain Creek restoration project to cause road delays on Hygiene Road beginning Nov. 13

From Boulder County Transportation

Bicyclists advised to use alternate route St. Vrain Road

Boulder County, Colo. – The St. Vrain Creek Reach 3 stream restoration project is underway at the Breaches 6 and 7a site near Hygiene Road and N. 61st Street.

Heavy truck traffic may cause short delays Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 13, on Hygiene Rd. and connecting streets:

Trucks turning onto Hygiene Rd at U.S. 36 and 75th St.
Truck traffic up and down Hygiene Rd.
Truck traffic on 75th St. south of Hygiene Rd. (trucks will avoid 75th St. north of Hygiene Rd.)
Bicyclists are strongly advised to avoid Hygiene Road due to safety concerns. St. Vrain Road is recommended as an alternate route.

The goal of the project is to restore and improve the channel and surrounding floodplain to protect life and property and provide a safe, natural, resilient, functioning, and ecologically rich habitat using natural system principles. The project will expedite recovery from the 2013 floods and make the area more resilient in future flood events.

This phase of the project is expected to continue through December. For more information about the project with maps, schedules, and updates, please visit www.BoulderCountyOpenSpace.org/sv3 or contact Obadiah Broughton at 720-864-6530 or obroughton@bouldercounty.org.
