How far did Denver B-cyclers ride last year? To the moon — three times!!

Riding on Denver’s red bicycles is replacing riding in cars, though total B-cycle trips dipped.

Shared red bicycles increasingly are acing out cars as a preferred way to move around central Denver: a survey unveiled Tuesday found 47 percent of the B-cycle rides last year replaced vehicle trips.

That’s up from 35 percent in 2012.

And the total distance B-cyclers pedaled last year — more than 755,000 miles — equates to three one-way trips to the moon…
