Prior to coaching, he was a professional on the Yeti mountain biking team from 1991-93. The FLC Cycling program has become one of the top, if not the best, cycling programs in the nation. Since 1994, the program has competed in the USA Cycling Varsity Division 1. The team has won championships in five disciplines throughout the course of the year: track, mountain biking, cyclocross, BMX and road.
