The Daily Camera reports that though electric bicycles are currently prohibited on Boulder County trails, open space rangers are not actively looking for offenders.
Several meetings are being held in February to collect the public’s input on what one resident describes as the “difference between the transportation infrastructure that’s in place or needed for commuters, and the infrastructure for recreational cycling on open space trails.”

E-bikes on County Open Space – Staff Seeking Public Input
Boulder County is seeking comments about whether electrical-powered bicycles should be allowed on bike trails in the county’s parks and open space areas.
The county considers electrical-assisted bicycles to be “motorized vehicles,” and prohibits riding them on any of its trails except where they are specifically designated as being permitted.

I can never hear the people being interviewed in 303Radio. Love the podcast but cannot hear them even with everything on 100%. Please make podcasts louder. People can turn the volume down but you can’t go higher than 100%.

Banning E=bikes is sort of an elitist attitude. Similar to saying that your not a real cyclist unless you ride a carbon fiber 11 speed cassette 16 lb road bike. And you regularly ride up Flagstaff.
Your not a real mtn biker if you have to have an assist to climb the hills on the dirt trails.
The other thing is that they will cause trail damage. Most people wanting a mtn E-bike are older, perhaps with health problems , so they need some assist.
The younger riders on regular mtn bikes do a lot more trail damage. Look at the promotional pictures, advertisements. They show the riders skidding turns, jumping spots on the trail. Articles that talk about ripping the trails, how to better shread that trail. Show the rider in switchback turns throwing dirt off their tires.
That is usually not the riding style of the E-bike customer.
