Denver PD to Lead Youth Ride June 23rd

Front Rangers Cycling Club, Sun Valley Youth Center and Denver Police Department District 1 to lead 40 inner city youth on a bike ride to Bronco’s Mini-Camp

What:  The Front Rangers Cycling Club, Sun Valley Youth Center and Denver Police Department District 1 will lead 40 youth from the Sun Valley neighborhood, the poorest neighborhood in Metro Denver, on a bike ride before heading to the Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium to watch the Denver Bronco’s Mini-Camp.  Following the Bronco’s Mini-Camp, the youth will return to the Sun Valley Youth Center for lunch.  Bikes and helmets are provided to all the youth and bike mechanics from Campus Cycles and MobileBikeMan will be onsite to help do safety checks on all the bicycles. Breakfast will be donated by Prosperoats.

Who:
Front Rangers Cycling Club – is dedicated to providing a stable role models and healthy, fun activities for at-risk youth in Denver. The FRCC’s program is committed to creating positive role models; enhancing the image of law enforcement; promoting bicycle safety; introducing youth to the sport; furthering a healthy lifestyle; and support junior bicycle

Sun Valley Youth Center – is committed to giving Denver’s poorest neighborhood a hope for the future.  With a focus on transforming the lives of at-risk youth in this low-income, public housing neighborhood Sun Valley Youth Center provides: day care, after-school care, youth development, mentoring and life essentials programs to help raise up the neighborhood’s youth.

Denver Police Department/District 1 – Denver Police Department is committed to positive engagement with youth that live and play in the Northwest part of the City and want to promote bicycle safety for all ages.  DPD District One is always looking for opportunities to interact with their communities in non-enforcement settings.  

Why: Every opportunity needs to be taken to work with under privileged youth to expose them to opportunities and inspire them to work hard to follow their dreams despite the obstacles.  Everyone needs help and the Front Rangers Cycling Club, Sun Valley Youth Center and Denver PD are dedicated to providing help and opportunities to kids in needs.

9:30am   Bike Ride starts – Bike Ride through Lakewood Gulch1
11:30am  Arrive at Sports Authority Field- Mile High Stadium for Bronco Mini-Camp
12:30pm  Return ride to Sun Valley Youth Center
