Community Cycles holds 11th Annual Kids’ Holiday Bike Giveaway

More than 350 bikes readied for low-income children

BOULDER—Community Cycles, a nonprofit organization that educates and advocates for the safe use of bicycles, will hold its popular Kids’ Holiday Bike Giveaway on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2750 Baseline Road (between Grease Monkey and Baseline Liquor).

Community Cycles and 100 volunteers have prepared more than 350 refurbished bikes for local kids in need. Each child will also receive a bike helmet provided by Boulder Community Health. This is the 11th year the organization has organized this event, dedicated to providing bikes to low-income children and families.

To receive a bike for a child two to 10 years old, a parent or guardian must present a recent report card, valid photo ID, passport or birth certificate for each child. A $35 donation is suggested per bike; however, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Community members can sponsor a child or family for $35 or $140, respectively. Visit communitycycles.org to become a sponsor.

Event sponsors include Southside Café, Boulder Community Health, KRD Foundation, Boulder Neurological and Spine and Capital One.
