The 3rd Annual Palisade Gran Fondo takes place June 3 2017.
Again this year we will have a chip timed 72 mile Gran Fondo and a 40 mile untimed, Piccolo Fondo. Both courses travel through our amazing Colorado fruit and wine country.
Excellent post ride picnic in the park with local food, beer and wine and tremendous giveaways.
The Palisade Gran Fondo is a fully supported, timed road cycling event on rolling terrain through picturesque orchards and vineyards of Western Colorado. Climb up onto the rugged Reeder and Purdy Mesas on back roads past farms and ranches. Attack the course for a podium spot or relax and enjoy the epic scenery–the choice is yours!
This event offers you a choice of two classic Western Colorado road rides–the 72 mile Palisade Gran Fondo or the 40 mile Palisade Piccolo Fondo. We will roll out at with a neutralized 4-mile warm-up spin along the Colorado River before you are cut loose to attack the 38 Road hill and traverse Palisade’s orchards and vineyards all of the way to Whitewater at your own best pace. Piccolo riders will turn around here and retrace their route, attacking each of the punchy rollers in the opposite direction. Palisade Gran Fondo riders will continue on to be faced with skirting the shoulder of the Grand Mesa as they climb Reeder and Purdy Mesas to 6100 feet.
