The 2016 Feedback Cup brought blue skies, huge crowds, and herds of Elk! Wait, what? Here’s Katie Macarelli’s recap:
1. Last year we had trouble with the wind blowing our course tape down the night before the race. This year, the forecast was wind-free. Buuuuuut the resident herd of Elk was a different story. We were a bit confused at first. Thinking, “Okay, this corner isn’t really all that technical or tight. Who blew through THIS part??” And then we saw the hoof-prints. 🙂
2. We had one team member–Alan Podczervinski raced 3 races that day. 3. Singlespeed, MM40+ and Cat3. That is insane. INSANELY AWESOME.
3. Photographer and Feedback Sports team-mate Teri Smith was injured during her race. The community loves her. She goes in for surgery tomorrow and the prognosis is better than first thought at the emergency room. The Dr’s are 99% sure her ligaments are in tact. That’s a much better scenario than she was first given. Shouldn’t have to stay the night in the hospital if everything goes accordingly. Please keep her in your thoughts.
4. We want to thank everyone who came to race, cheer, volunteer…and drink beer. Thank you so much for making 2016 the best year yet. We can’t wait to see what 2017 brings!
