Durango

The DEATH RIDE Challenge started back in 1979 by a band of thrill seekers. You will cover 225 miles with 16,500 feet of climbing through the beautiful San Juan Mountains in Southwestern Colorado. You’ll start and finish in Durango, CO. This will be one of the most challenging rides you will ever do. It is highly recommended that you properly train for the event. You’ll start and finish the DEATH RIDE Challenge at the historic Strater Hotel leaving at 3:00 am and having 17 hours until 8:00 pm to finish. Each participant that has been affected by ALS someway will receive a special in honor or in memory flag to carry with them to the 5 mountain passes
