Bicycle Tour of Colorado

This 7-day, epic road cycling tour will begin June 24th, 2018 in Leadville, CO, the highest incorporated city in the United States at an elevation of 10,152 feet. From Leadville we will be cycling over Independence pass at 12,095 ft – the highest paved pass in Colorado!

Please take time to acclimate for this tour!  Upon descending Independence pass we will be cycling though the quaint town of Aspen into our host town of Carbondale at 88 miles for the day.  June 25 will take you from Carbondale over McClure pass at 8,763 ft into Delta for an 87 mile day.  From Delta we travel 72 miles into Palisade over the breathtaking Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic byway.  After Palisade, at about the 4th mile, we will enter I-70 to cycle on the shoulder, about 17 miles. At mile 22, we will leave I-70 for the frontage road up to mile 71. Then, another 4 miles on I-70 just west of Glenwood, entering at Chacra and exiting just before Glenwood. We will cycle on the I-70 shoulder about 21 miles total out of the 75 mile day ending in Glenwood Springs for the day off!  After a relaxing day off in Glenwood Spring we will cycle the 31 miles of the Colorado River Road, 17 of which is well maintained dirt, to Eagle. (short, non-dirt option available).   Before you know it, the last day, from Eagle, climbing Tennessee Pass at 10,424 ft and back to Leadville 73 miles for the tour end celebration!
