The question came up after the floods in 2013, after all the damage in Jefferson County was assessed, and after a core network trails were closed to mountain bikes for too long in the eyes of many. It came after tough conversations about trail usage and maintenance and stewardship. And it came after talk of restrictions and limitations that did not sit well with the people who ride those trails the most. Read more

      • Women On Wheels, WOW: Social Events

        Submitted by 303cycling on April 15th, 2016

Women are a very important and growing part of the cycling and triathlon communities. While everyone will agree that cycling clubs and groups are all good, there’s something about an all women’s group.

In order to help foster the growth of women in cycling and triathlon, we are starting a Women On Wheels series to introduce women to the MANY resources available in Colorado just for women. If you are a coach, event organizer, race director or anyone else with information on events and groups specifically for women, please contact Jennifer Findley so we can include the information with our resources.

We hope you enjoy this series and find it useful. Read more

          Submitted by 303cycling on April 14th, 2016

          By 303 Ambassador Erin Trail

RaceCO founder Kyle Sipes was inspired to create a grassroots mountain bike race series that would be fun for racers and spectators alike. In looking at the Colorado racing scene, he noticed that most series were based in the central Front Range (Golden/Boulder) and that the races catered only to the racer’s experience. His idea was to bring a racing festival to the southern Metro Denver area… Read more

Running. Two years ago I was holding steady with my personal statement about running; I’m not running unless someone is chasing me. And that someone better be scary and trying to take my coffee away from me. But then something happened and I can’t even remember what it was exactly. It’s like that old couple when they get asked about how they met and they’re a little bit foggy about the details but they can remember the love and the chemistry.

I think it started with cyclocross. . . Read more

I had the opportunity to participate in this 7 week time trial (TT) race series and I JUMPED on it. TT racing had always been something I was curious about but had never tried. I have the TT bike and the aero helmet, so all I needed was the willingness to endure 7 weeks of all-out riding. Easy peasy… Read more
