Boulder’s Wednesday Morning Velo Highlights Local Charities on “Non Profit Day”

From Wednesday Morning Velo

It has become a tradition over the years to host a day in September where WMV invites local charities to lead our rides and be recognized for the value and hard work in our community. Please show your appreciation by showing up and supporting them in the good fight.

September 6th – Non Profit Day

About Chef’s Cycle

Chefs Cycle is an organization made up of restaurant professionals who raise money to fight childhood hunger. Yellowbelly is a fast casual restaurant in the natural foods space. We use high quality ingredients & strive to help people eat better by offering them healthier versions of the food they already love. We also want to pay respect to the fact that some people are not able to make good nutrition choices. 1 in 6 kids in this country are considered food insecure. This is completely unacceptable! Every $1 donated provides 10 meals for kids! A lot of these programs are through schools. It gives kids incentive to go to school. Once there, with a healthy meal, they can focus & learn. Please consider donating: http://join.nokidhungry.org/site/TR?px=3306184&fr_id=1411&pg=personal

MG Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Steve Watts

The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance’s mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in the greater Boulder Colorado area by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building.

Boulder Mountainbike Alliance works towards three major goals: Build and Maintain Trails, Advocate for Trail Access & Create a Community of Mountain Bikers.

Most recently, BMA advocated for and secured over 8 miles of trails in Boulder County and City…Overland Loop and the Schoolhouse Loop at Heil 2 and the North Sky Trail in NoBo. We have kicked-off fundraising for our major project to build and reestablish over 44 miles of USFS designated trails in Magnolia…please donate to make this system a reality!

About The BrainSpotting Institute

The Rocky Mountain BrainSpotting Institute (RMBI) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was created to promote and advance the use of brainspotting, an emerging new treatment in psychotherapy. It is a professional association of psychotherapists who use brainspotting in their practices. Brainspotting is an effective and efficient healing modality that can be used with children, adolescents and adults and has been beneficial with all types of performance work, including athletes recovering from accidents or injuries and preparing for competitions and events.

They are raising money for a Treatment Fund so that those in financial need can receive free brainspotting therapy. There are many folks with PTSD and other trauma related issues (I.e. still suffering from the trauma of the flood, loss of home, employment etc) who can benefit from this program.

About Boulder B Cycle & Executive Director Kevin Crouse

Boulder B-Cycle is all about Bike Sharing!

Bike sharing is different from bike rental. It’s a new type of transportation system that allows a large number of people to share a small number of bikes. This is accomplished through short station-to-station bike trips. Yeah, we know you own a bike or three but, there not always convenient or ready at the time you need it. Our 300+ B-Cycles are already tuned up and ready to ride, with fenders, chain guard, quick adjustable seat height, head light, tail light and a super cool front basket available from 43 Stations.

Why deal with giving up your parking space a work over lunch or that in town meeting, just use a B-Cycle to get across town.
