Spring is in the air and it seems that everyone is dusting off their bike and checking out their bike gear from previous seasons. April and May are stacked with some great events geared towards cyclists and women alike. Come join in on the fun!
Women Bike Colorado Happy Hour Women Bike Colorado is a subset of Bicycle Colorado with the mission of promoting everything involving women on bicycles, from learning how to ride, to commuting, to racing. Join their Facebook page or check out the calendar on their website to see the event schedule. This is a monthly event.
April 21: Campus Cycles Heels on Wheels Night. Rumor has it, there will be local female cyclists modeling some new Spring Clothing…
April 29: Bicycle Colorado’s Annual Gala. A fundraiser for better bicycling and a party you won’t want to miss! This annual celebration is the official kick-off to the cycling season.
April 30: Colorado Springs Bike Swap. The Colorado Springs Bike Swap is a one-day event that connects folks with bike stuff to sell with people who want to buy it. With plenty of vendors registered to sell stuff like Mountain, Road & Cross bikes, cycling attire, shoes, frames, forks, cranks, pedals — you name it, it’s probably at the swap meet. The exact vendors vary from year to year, but it’s a good bet that you’ll find some spectacular deals, and meet a bunch of great people.
May 5: Wheat Ridge Cyclery Women’s Night Out. This night is all about you — the woman cyclist. Over 30 industry reps, complimentary Cinco de Mayo cuisine, margaritas, and chocolate! WNO is THE early sales event of the season. See all the latest designs and technology, enjoy special pricing, and get your cycling season underway!
May 13-14: Colorado Bike Expo. This free two-day festival brings together all things cycling and Colorado; pairing industry professionals, recreational riders, cycling enthusiasts, hardcore roadies and utilitarians with the latest products, consumer trends, deals, organized rides, clubs, nonprofits and cycling destinations. Featuring more than 100 exhibitors, the expo also includes fun and engaging activities for all ages! There’s even a women’s specific section to the expo, so bring your girlfriends!
May 22: Women Bike Colorado Meet and Greet. WBC has experienced monumental growth this past year and Bicycle Colorado would like to celebrate this new community by bringing us together for a first annual WBC Meet and Greet picnic/potluck! We love that WBC has become a forum for so many of us to meet, ride, exchange cycling information and support both online and in person. We want to get together, put faces with names and continue to talk and make connections.
October 22: VeloSwap. Buy … Sell … Recycle! Subaru VeloSwap is the world’s largest consumer bicycling and sports expo that celebrates all things cycling. This cultural cycling event is a not-to-be-missed experience where you can feel the pulse of the cycling community and rub elbows with like-minded-cyclists. At the Subaru VeloSwap, you have the opportunity to see, swap, buy and sell your new or used bikes, components and cycling accessories. You can also take part in cycling clinics hosted by cycling celebrities and industry experts, family events, product sampling and the all-new EcoVillage.
