Has Drake ever been to Vail

Has Drake ever been to Vail in September? Have any of the potential sponsors? I think all of us would love to see this happen, but what a crazy risk. On September 30 Vail is either going to be covered in breathtaking gold aspen leaves or a foot of snow. It's a tossup, and you're not going to know until a few days before. Hoping for the best.

Diferent than NCC?

How does this series differ from the National Criterium Calendar? http://usacycling.org/ncc
*Should move Vail up to July 22. One week after Idaho and day after Mt. Evans. Nobody is racing on the road at the end of September...

You sound like these racers get a choice

Most of the racers doing the series are pretty much required to race the series, per their sponsor contracts. It's their job. For the local cat 1 thru 5 they mostly likely have checked out and are either moving to cross or drinking beer... or both so they should be a perfect set of spectators than. IMO this race is about bringing spectators to the beautiful Vail Vally... not about getting ACA racers up there to throw down.

I don't think getting local racers up there was his point

(don't know for sure). More along the lines of the beautiful fall day or miserable fall weather. Just seems like a big gap from mid-July to the end of Sept. I thought it was a typo.
I cant' remember the specific dates they happened but everytime I did the Brecktober cross it was freaking cold. Best of luck though, should be neat.

Tour of Vail

Hi Folks,
Yes, I have been to Vail several times. We have looked at historical weather and we should be fine. The streets of Vail are heated anyway...
Look for other major announcements soon about the weekend including the addition of a Vail Pass TT on the 2011 USA Pro Cycling Challenge course and a grand fondo style ride.
Thanks,
Dieter

This has bust written all over it. For one it's cross season and TriStar already announced a new grand fondo in Vail this year.

Not an ACA race, and NO local

Not an ACA race, and NO local roadie/cross racer would be doing the event anyway. Non sequiter

If it is an USAC race in Colorado, it MUST go through ACA and pay $2.50 a rider plus all out of state racers must buy an ACA One-Day License for $5.00.

Really? You think all those

Really? You think all those "pro" events in the NATIONAL series charge the pro racers a local association fee? Think the USPRO Challenge racers are going to pay a fee to BRAC??

Yep... If it's a USAC

Yep...
If it's a USAC promoted race, Road or Cross, in Colorado it falls under BRAC. Must pay all BRAC Fees.
USPRO is UCI.
