CU Short Track starts Today

News Item:

May 20th is the opening day for short track racing at the CU research park! Same race format as last years, racing starts at 5pm with kids racing and continues on until finishing off with the Men's A group at 7:15pm. If you've never participated in short track or watched it then you should consider it. Short track racing is short, usually 20 or 30 minutes of racing on a short off road course that in the case of the CU course really winds around a lot making it perfect for the family and spectator. Additionally they serve up brats at the race every year for participates and usually somebody is around to hand out a beer or two. With the exception for the first 30 seconds the race is pretty safe. Starts are mad and furious and sometimes 50 riders are quickly forced into a single track and with a field that big being near the front is very important.

Schedule:

  • 5:00 pm - Kids - 1-2 laps
  • 5:15 pm - Juniors / Women’s B (20 min)
  • 5:40 pm - Men's C (20 min)
  • 6:05 pm - Men's B / Single Speed (20 min)
  • 6:35 pm - Women's A (30 min)
  • 7:15 pm - Men's A (30 min)
