“I’m probably not going to like this. Don’t worry about me. I’ll meet you back at the car.” That’s what I said on my first mountain bike ride with eight other girls. It was the maiden ride of what would become Singletrack Sistahs. A group for women who wanted to ride but not necessarily with their boyfriends and husbands.
The Women’s Mentoring Program is a BRAC initiative to aid beginning women riders in that transition from rider to racer. Entering those first few races can be intimidating and nerve wracking for most anyone when they start racing.

Oh crap. Just when I think I know nothing about the mechanics and the maintenance of mountain bikes I realize that I know less than nothing. Can you relate? I mean in a town of people who seem to eat, sleep and ride I can’t keep up.
