About this time two years ago I stumbled upon the Beti Bike Bash registration page. It was two days before the race and I thought, ‘What the hell do I have to lose?” It turns out nothing. And it also turns out that it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
With it being the end of school for my three kids I am the solo resident of crazy town. So, instead of my usual rant I am sharing an email I sent to a friend this week in response to her question; “What kind of bike should I buy?” Enjoy.
Mother Dana Patten and daughter Molly Patten will ride the L'Eroica Junction to Glenwood Vintage Bicycle Race, a tribute to the cyclists of the early 1900s who rode 102 miles from Grand Junction to Glenwood Springs on single speed bikes.
Last week I went on and on about group rides. Group rides are a great way to meet bike minded people. I sincerely hope that some of you took me up on the idea. But this week I want to go in another direction. Solo riding.
