Boulder Middle Cross Program Looking for Volunteers

Looking For A Few Good Crossers

The Boulder Middle Cross program is looking for some cross racers to help out with after school practice as mentors. This great program get middle schooler's introduced to cyclocross. Mentors should have a strong understanding of the sport and be able to instruct and exhibit basic dismount and remount technique.

Mentors are needed from 4 until 5:30 on the following dates and locations:

Cyclist killed in Johnstown

News Item: 

From Denver Post

A bicyclist was involved in a collision with a pickup truck in Johnstown Monday evening, and died at the scene.

Weld County Coroner's investigator Mark Ward said the man — described as a young adult — had no identification on him at the time of the collision, and the coroner's office had difficulty finding the next of kin. They said he was apparently a Johnstown resident.

Narrow lanes pose danger to cyclists

Lanes have been narrowed by construction, eliminating all passing zones. Short sections of single-lane traffic continue this week.

Bike riders are strongly discouraged from riding the NCAR mesa road during business hours until further notice, due to safety concerns.

Employees who cycle to work are encouraged to meet the NCAR Shuttle at the Table Mesa Shopping Center stop to transport their bikes up the hill.
