Ruthie Matthes now in the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame

News Item: 

Last week, Colorado cyclists, Ruthie Matthes was inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Ruthie's 19 year career landed her many times on the podium and eventually landing her in her new home town of Durango Colorado, the place she won her World Mountain Bike Championship in 1991. It was truly a delight to meet Ruthie at Interbike and while she might not be competing anymore her energy is uplifting to be around. Congrats Ruthie!

Remembering the Past: Red Zinger exhibit at Boulder Library this month

Sounds like a great Cycling History exhibit this month at the Boulder Library.

This month, the Boulder Public Library is displaying an exhibit on the Red Zinger, with old photos, newspaper clippings and race brochures, on the bridge over Boulder Creek in the main library branch.

"This is really a Boulder story -- that's one of the things that really turned me on about it," said Douglas Lee, a professional writer who put together the display in collaboration with the Carnegie Branch Library for Local History.
