Boulder Cruiser Christmas Parade

From the Boulder Cruisers...

2008 Christmas Boulder Cruiser Parade

The parade is Saturday, December 4 at 6:00 p.m. The staging area opens at 5:00 p.m. The parade will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. Participants numbered greater than 20 must be in their positions by 6:15 p.m. We are number 31 this year located behind Cub Scout Pack 174 and in front of Ecological Lawn Care Co.See notes below from the Parade Organizers in regards to the parade:Please leave yourself enough time before the parade to find your place and assemble your group in the Staging Area. Be considerate of other parade participants trying to stage around you. Non-participants are asked to stay outside of the Staging Area. Please carpool as we want to leave as much parking as possible available to spectators. Participants are encouraged to park in the parking garage at 16th & Pearl. After 5:00 p.m., enter the structure from 16th & Walnut. Parking in the structures is free on Saturdays.Parade night is also a great night to HOP, SKIP or JUMP downtown. As downtown is the major hub for RTD bus routes you can get downtown by bus from just about anywhere in Boulder.Remember ? no live Santa?s (Santa will be on his float at the end of the parade and two Santa?s would not be good). We encourage everyone to light your entry for visibility and spirit. Candy throwing is prohibited by Boulder City Ordinance (handing candy to parade viewers is acceptable but discouraged as it becomes trash on the route). Distribution of flyers is also discouraged as it too adds to the trash accumulation. Downtown Boulder encourages alternative powered floats and transportation. Please help us keep Downtown green during this busy holiday season!

13th Annual B360/180 Circle Boulder by Bike

Be sure to join Community Cycles for the kick-off event of Walk & Bike Month 2010- The Circle Boulder by Bicycle Tour on June 6th!

Known by those who love it as the B360 or B180, this ride, starting at Scott Carpenter Park, is a Boulder tradition.

This popular family friendly bike ride tours Boulder's Greenway bike trail system. Each year the ride changes just a bit to highlight newly opened trails and connections. This year's ride celebrates the new Elmer's 2 mile Greenway and the 4 Mile Creek underpass at Diagonal and the railroad tracks.

Rolling start at 3 pm. Ride the full 360 or the shorter B180. There will be a bike rodeo for kids before the ride starting at noon sponsored by Community Cycles and a post-ride picnic and prize drawings.

Please contact us if you would like to volunteer at this year's B360.

East Pearl Street car free party

http://bouldergreenstreets.org/

The time has finally arrived for Boulder’s very first Ciclovìa-inspired event! And trust us, you don’t want to miss this momentous occasion. Mark your calendars for September 19th and join us along eastern Pearl Street between 15th and Folsom for a heaping dose of fun. With your help we can continue to expand the route!

The included streets will be closed off to all through traffic—that’s right, people—and you’ll have the chance to walk, bike, run, skate or dance your way freely along the route. Plus, this event features a range of exciting activity zones where you can enjoy a range of delicious food, spirited live music, free yoga classes, and other health- and active-lifestyle-based entertainment.

This is your chance to become part of the Green Streets Revolution. So let’s all come together, ditch the cars, and prove that there are better ways to fill to our streets than with traffic.

The History of Ciclovia....
The most famous Ciclovìa occurs every Sunday in Bogota, Colombia where an astounding 70 miles of major city streets are shut down and handed over to two million bike-riding, road-running, game-playing citizens.
