Great spectating at the track!

Just finished watching another night of racing at the track today and it was fun. Not to sound too cheesy but this is good entertainment for the whole family. My 7 year old really enjoyed watching the races and my 2 year old rode the stryder bikes around. And it was free! Always good to find free entertainment during times this this.

If you haven't stopped by the track you really should sometime soon and watch a race!

Race Results

I am curious if Boulder Indoor Cycling is going to post results from Monday nights racing. It would be cool to see lap times etc. I know everyone racing in all the events had a chip so they should have the data. I was at the track today and nothing was posted their.

I just looked on mylaps.com and there is data from the event but its not really clear

League Racing Categories

I was at the velodrome last night for the first night of racing. It was very exciting and fun to watch. One thing I took away from the night was the need for people to be honest about the categories that they are racing.

In the second race of the night which was the Mens B Snowball a employee of Boulder Indoor Cycling raced and he is a Cat 1 rider. There was one rider in this group who was lapped within the first couple minutes and ended up dropping out after 5 minutes of racing.

Schedule Disappointments / Too many riders on the track / Sharp increase in cost

I also ran into schedule problems. I came in for a scheduled Open Riding period only to find out that it had been changed to an instruction period. I was told that I always have to call-in and reserve my slot in advance. So I started doing that. Well folks, I just learned that, even though I had called in a few days ago to reserve a slot for several sessions for a week in advance, my name had been wiped off of each one of them and I had to re-reserve those slots all over again. I can only hope that it was a simple one time human error and that it won’t happen again.

Make sure you check the rental before you ride

I appreciate the Velodrome providing the rentals for free. Now having said that make sure you check the rental out well before you ride it. Have you noticed all of the crash marks on the track? Most have been made on the rentals and one of the nice Fuji's has some very jacked up handle bars and who knows what else is going on with some of them! At first I was thinking I was just going to use the rentals until I got serious but now I'm thinking I will purchase my own bike regardless out of safety.

League Information

There are more details on the league racing. It is a little confusing because at the top of the page they talk about Cat 1,2,3 and 4 but the schedule does not use this nomenclature. The schedule uses Open, A and B. Whats the difference between Open and A?

I am interested in whats the max number in say a tempo race? They do have an individual time trial.

Sunday 2/8 - 8:00 am Open Riding

We are trying to get a group for a Open Riding I. Right now Masters 3s and 4s. (We will cordinate the workout with who is there. More controlled, Less of a free for all.)
It is tentative (but very likely) for now. It depends on getting a few more riders so they can justify opening an hour earlier. Consider it an Open Riding 1 period. I will confirm one way or the other by late Saturday and post it here. If you can make it (Sunday 2/8 at 8 AM), it would be best to call the track ASAP at 303-292-5465 to reserve your slot.
