Fourmile Connector trail to Betasso set to open July 12th

News Item:

This Thursday at 3pm Boulder County officials will open the LONG awaited Fourmile connector to the Betasso trail system. This new trail will allow cyclist to avoid either the tunnel or the canyon link trail if they want to ride to Betasso. Many have hated the existing two options because the tunnel for many is just damn scary if you don't have a tail light and the link trail can be a pain if you don't have good legs or lungs and sometimes have to watch for the occasional bombing downhiller yelling "Straaaavvvvaaaa".

From 303triathlon

The 2012 Boulder Peak Triathlon was all about the bike. Boulder native Cam Dye very nearly claimed the bike course record on his way to winning the notoriously challenging Boulder Peak 5150 Triathlon. In the end 4 time XTERRA World Champion, Conrad Stoltz, edged Dye by just 6 seconds to claim the bike record on his way to an eventual 5th place. That's an effort, according to Stoltz, of close to 400 watts average for the 42k hilly course. We have to imagine Dye was producing something very close to those numbers, although he is a bit lighter than "The Caveman" Stoltz. Either way both produced bike splits more than three minutes faster than the third split of Matty Reed (1:01:20). The only reason Stoltz was not second was due to a minute stand down penalty due to riding past the dismount line into T2.
