More bike parks are getting built out, next up is Superior Colorado with a one acre course filled with pump track, dirt jumps and rock obstacles. The Valmont Bike Park is still on schedule for a Spring 2010 opening and Golden and Castle Rock both have grand openings of their parks in the next 30 days.

SUPERIOR -- Mountain bikers may soon have a new place to play, after town leaders Monday night approved a skills course as part of a future 11-acre park.
Trustees voted to move ahead on the design of a mountain bike course to occupy part of the town's Three Parks Project off of Rock Creek Parkway.
Mountain biking coach Lee McCormack, who was tapped to design and build the one-acre course, said he will ride nearby open space properties -- like Marshall Mesa and Doudy Draw -- to learn the intricacies of the local topography in an effort to bring some of those challenges to his course.
"People who live in Superior probably know Marshall Mesa intimately," said the 41-year-old owner of Boulder-based Lee Likes Bikes LLC. "Any kind of special feature I can re-create in the park, I will."
He said the course -- complete with a pump track, dirt jumps and rock obstacles -- will give residents and mountain biking enthusiasts a chance to hone their skills in a controlled environment before launching themselves off ledges and over boulders in popular riding spots throughout Boulder County.
