Road to Jamestown & Ward – Construction Update!

road construction

During the September 2013 flood event, numerous sections of Lefthand Canyon Drive were either damaged or completely destroyed. After some much needed construction, we are excited to announce there are no road closures left on the road to Jamestown!

There are flaggers during the day helping to keep traffic moving along. There may still be “road closure” signs but that unless the flagger stops you, it is OK to proceed with caution.

Cyclists need to keep in mind the road still consists of pretty rough gravel. Mountain and cyclocross bikes should handle the terrain well but road bikes should proceed with caution.

James Canyon Drive on down is tentatively set to be completely paved by the beginning of September and the rest of Lefthand Canyon Drive by October.

The bridge on N 83rd to Carter Lake construction was delayed and is now set to be complete come October 1. Also, Chapman Road between Boulder Canyon and Flagstaff will remain closed until October 1st.
