Riders find refuge and warmth at the Boulder Velodrome

News Item:

Now that the weather is heading south many more riders have been heading back to the Boulder Velodrome. The last time we heard about the velodrome was when Velocross opened the cyclocross season out there with a unique usage of the facility. After the last few mud fest cyclcross races the riders have been fighting many are rethinking this whole cross thing and wonder if its time to hide from the elements and return to the velodrome.

Photos, Results and Mud from the final Boulder Racing Series

News Item:

The final Boulder Racing Series CX race came to a close today at Xlinx course in Longmont. This course changed more than a teenager slamming red bulls and Nyquil. From looking at the 35+ photos taken by our photographer and writer David Kuticpal, I wonder if I was even in this race because by the final race of the day the course was peanut butter and the mud was freezing to the bikes, my bike must have weighed at least 40lbs by the finish. It was a good day for SS category with the winner taking the victory in the 3's field too! I don't have much to say today, it was hard and muddy, hopefully the photos linked below will tell much more.

Colorado Veldrijden Crusade #2 - Race Report

News Item:

Seems like every time I head to Bear Creek Lake for a cyclocross race the weather is a factor. Yesterday was no exception. As we were leaving Boulder the snow started and never stopped. By the time I raced the mud was a little thicker and really slippery. Like the other races that I done here there is always a twist. The twist for this race was a LeMans Start.

Here are the 3s running to their bikes:

The course was also a little different with alot of twisting single track. It made for a good place to recover but you really had to focus on you handling skills.

ACA launches new redesigned website

News Item:

Yesterday at 2:30pm Insight Designs launched the newly redesigned ACA website. Earlier this year the more important and complex piece of the website, the back office piece that is used by officials and staff, was launched opening the door to many possibilities and fewer headaches by the ACA staff. The new website not only fixes the extremely outdated and poorly created old site/database but opens up new online features like online registration and license renewal. Congratulations to Insight Designs and the ACA, they had a major undertaking given all the years of neglect it was given.
