Open Riding Part II
Submitted by David on
I was at the velodrome today doing an open ride and it was a great workout. A couple things that i wanted to comment on were the number of riders doing the open ride and the large discrepancy in abilities.
The track is not that big and there were I think 12 people on the track. There were not any accidents but 12 riders is alot. I think they should limit the number of riders that do an open ride.
I also thought there was a huge range of riding abilities. I would say half the riders were P-1-2 riders then a handful of 3s then a handful of 4s. It makes things a little dangerous with the wide variety of abilities.

Was it Open Riding I (3-4-5)

Was it
Open Riding I (3-4-5) or
Open Riding II (1-2-3)?
Seems with that many people on the track, everybody should be on the same level...
Open Ride II

It was Open Ride II. I think the velodrome needs to do some question asking. There were definitely a handful of people that were not Cat 1 2 or 3.
The official word is....

Only 10 riders on the track at a time for open riding, regardless of skill.
