How Much is Too Much?
Submitted by David on
The Rist Canyon Road Race is fast approaching on June 21st. It is an unbelievable course with a great climb and spectacular scenery. The big complaint is the cost. It is $70 for the race and granted it does include a post race meal and some other goodies but $70 is alot of money. I know its expensive to put on a road race but $70 is twice what other local road races cost. Here is more information about the race. I for one don't need the post race meal or the goodies. I wish that would be an option. What do you think?

Same conversation took place last year and many complained, rightfully so, but in the end hundreds came, paid the $$, got their asses kicked and went home happy to do a RR that is not in KATMANDU Eastern Colorado. Hell, it cost that much in gas + reg to do Hugo.

I agree I paid the price last year, got a flat at the base of the climb, no wheel support, finished the race, had a blast! I have actually already signed up for this years race. Its really the only true road race in the front range that has it all.

I stayed away last year

I stayed away last year because of the cost and I'm staying away this year. A burger in a box does not appeal to me.
